Done a lot of different things
Maybe a few of you know, but i went in the beginning of May for 1 week to South Korea were i stayed in Seoul. And wow that was in expirience. Although i went alone (no one else could) and had to survive with english only (i only knew kamsamida =thank you) i survived. Still i have to say that it was hard as not so many people in Seoul can speak english.
Before going to korea i was expecting that it would be sot of the same as japan, but actually it surprised that i could see so many differences
-price of food (and a lot of other things) and ofcourse the taste
I had a nice time while staying in Seoul, still....., sometimes i wanted to have a friend with me to enjoy the moments with.
Also important! I walked a lot from place to place as different things were close to each other. Sometimes i had to take the train.
SIDENOTE : The spicy food was really delicious!! Although i had to watch out that it was not to spicy
University Todai Openday
For the people who dont know what i am going to talk about. Todai is one of the best Universitys in Japan. There was an Open day / student festival day and i went with a friend to see whats going on and to see ofcourse the campus.
Really when i arrived i was soooo amazed. Also, while walking around my eyes popped out and i wished i could have studied at that school.
To describe the campus. It is really big and spacious. There are a lot of seperate big buildings, and between the buildings there are trees which makes the campus looks like a park. Well.... now that i said it there is even a small park on the campus with a lake.
Just all these makes me want to study there. Only for the surroundings...
The buildings are build in the old english style if i have to describe it. Although for me it felt more like school in The Netherlands. E.g. Eerst Christelijk Lyceum
The students had some activities going on. E.g. There were a lot of foodstalls made and organised by students (sometimes the students, yes also the males, were dressed up in different kind of clothes XD )
Inside some buildings were activities and classes with information bout certain studies.
There were some stages were the dance clubs, music clubs and sing clubs had there peformance. We enjoyed our day here.
Maybe i already told some people that in japan you have those special theme cafes. Like a cat cafe, maid cafe, vampire cafe, penguin cafe etc.
Ofcourse then there should also be a butler cafe. This means that the people who serve you food and drinks are like butlers.
Ofcourse i had to go with a classmate of mine. This is the story about my (our) expirience from the moment we entered the cafe (same story as on FB)
When we entered we walked past a few butlers saying いらっしゃいませ お嬢さま ''welcome pincessess/lady's'' and arrived in the lobby. I thought they would bring us to our table immediately, (due to my nervousness i was impatient) but no 2 butlers (old and young) were standing and waited for our attention. As i wasnt that patient and still looked for the door/corner to go to the dining area i almost walked into a mirror (thought this was a corner). When i noticed this i saw a lot of doorknobs and wondering which one to open XD it was just a garderobe Hahaha..... and i became more confused... then i turned around and finally the butlers spoke, gave us a short introduction and guided us... Soo awkward.... XD
A butler brought us to our table in the ''far'' back and we were both awkward... how should we behave? This was a problem for the first 30-40 minutes as we were not used to the treatment. When the butler helped us we were quiet and when he was away we talked and laughed (a laugh which you use in a situation which you are not used to). Also, we could ring a bell when we needed a butler, but i was scared how hard this bell would ring in a quiet/soft area. Thus didnt dare to ring it in the 1st 50 minutes XD
But i have to say. We were really treated like lady's , they paid attention to our needs and although they ''most likely'' felt our awkward moments they just kept cool. Still it was sort of expensive, but reasonable? One person is around 3000 yen for a bit of food (english tea style), a small pot of tea and ofcourse the service they provide. Oh yeah... it also is for only 80 minutes which flies by
-there were around 10 butlers.
-the room was decorated really beautifully (dark red, bordeau and white mix)
-at the end i felt really like a lady (although i didnt have ofcourse all the manners)
-even if you want to go to the toilet a butler will accompany you to a certain point
-no, they were not all to my taste. Only a few were cool / いけめん
！!!!!! Unluckely they wont allow that you make pictures
Seeing Hotaru (fireflies)
The next day after the butler cafe i went with my hostfamily to a small park further from Tokyo to see fireflies which are call Hotaru in Japanese.
We arrived just when it was getting dark and waited a bit longer longer.
After a while we started to see a small light in the bushes next to the creak. Then when it started to get darker more lights could be seen and some started flying. It is so magical to see this happing, because there is no electricty needed and no other interference of other things. It is all generated by one fly. While watching the fireflies for a while i wanted to stand between them or just like in disney movies ''while walking a lot of fireflies fly in the sky''.
OH!! I even catched one in my hands XD It was so special looking at it so closely.
In between in did some other things. Like sightseeing with some friends a certain place, going to Izakaya. Finally i went to the swimming pool.
At school it is fine. Although it is difficult sometimes thus i need to study more. The Big Test is in about 3 weeks. So i need to prepare for that.
There is even a hatefull presentation coming tomorrow. Uwaaa... i cant even do a presentation in Dutch or English as i mess up with my words, grammer and forget most of the sentences..... Sooo hatefull
My plan has changed i will be staying a bit longer in Japan. Untill 22th of August!! In the 1 month and a half i have in japan i am planning to travell around slowly. The plans are being made for the first 2-3 weeks and i need to think after that. But first i had like to go to Hokkaido, then stopping place by place towards Tokyo. Then maybe to Okinawa? This i have not yet decided as it is most likely really hot at that time. Also, i want to go one more time to Mnt Fuji.

Dikke kus xx mamsie
