27 April 2014 | Japan, Tokio

But first i have to mention that i passed the Big test and am following classes on a bit higher level. It is thougher then the last class as i get more grammer, everyday a lot new vocabulary, having longer conversations which require more/different grammer and also using a lot the more formal way of speaking. So, i have to do my best !

Spring

The spring began in Tokyo at the beginning of this month as the sakura (japanese famous flower which lasts for 1 week) began blooming. Unlucky me this was around the period of the Big Test. Thus i had to enjoy it a bit less, but still i saw with my friends a lot of places with Sakura flowers!

At the time the sakura were withering other kinds of flowers started blooming. Spring is defenityly also a really nice period of Japan!

Activities

After passing the test i did different kind of activities with my friends of school, DK house friends and hostfamily. I will tell about them a bit.

Hostbrothers entrance ceremony in Elementary school (basisschool)

Well.... actually i skipped school for this XD on the first day of the new period of the new class. BUT i really wanted to see this and expirience some japanese traditional ways.
It was really interesting. First we went to the school, took some pictures in front of the school and waited for the time to go in. Everyone was formally clothed. It was soooo cute to see those children with a bag half their size.
After entering school we sat down in the gym and listened to some formal speeches of some persons of the school, while the new classes which were formed came in one by one.
The most interesting part was we went to the class of most hostbrother were i could see how a class in japan looked like, the introduction of the teacher (man, 23 years old and just graduated) and how such a day was followed.
After that we (all students of the class an parents icluding me) were going on a picture XD I was nervous......
Then it was over and everyone were taking pictures of the kids. Even the gatekeeper...... I will post a picture of him here. It is really funny to see how he and the other parents pose.

Disneyland

With some friends i went to Disneyland and yes even for this i was a bad student and took a day of from school (in weekends nd national holidays it is even more crowded than on weekdays). I had a great time with them! We took some pictures with some Disney figures, other places, rode several attractions, saw the easter parade and electrial parade at night. Soooooooooooo much fun!!
I hope to get next month to Disneyland Sea. This is a Disneypark for adults were the attractions are scarier and it is possible to drink alcohol :-)

Several parties

At the time of the sakura i went with my DK house friends to a park to have a drinking/sukura party (sitting beneath a tree with sakura). It was really fun, but unfortunatly it bagan raining after 2 hours..... we went back to the dorm and then i left to go home to have a dinner party with the hostfamily and some familymembers of my other housemate who came over.

The next week i had again two parties of one day. That is ofcourse fun, but i hope it does not become an habit. Then i have to quit the first party a bit earlier :-(
It was a housewarming party of my classmate. She moved from her hostfamily to live with her France friend together. They have a nice place outside (although it is prohibited to have a party at that place).
They wanted to go karaoke, but i had to go to the sushi party at DK house. Thus leaving and on my way for 1 hour to the dorm.
There i helped with the preparations and ate together with them! Sooo delicious and fun!! You pick a nori sheet(seaweed), put it on your hand, put some rice on it, some toppings and try to fold it a bit. Then just eat it. You dont need to make it so beautifull. Another way was, have a big salad leave, put some rice and toppings on it and fold it. This really has a refreshing taste! It was also nice meeting my DK house friends again and enjoyed my time :-)
They even tried talking me into leaving the hostfamily and come back to DK house XD

Traditional Yabusame (archery from a horse)

Went with my housemate to Asakusa to see this event. We even were there 45 minutes before the event, but still there were a lot of people.
The event started with a ritual and introducing the archers. Every participart was wearing the traditional clothes.
Then when they started the horses road really fast. Just really fast. In that state the archers who were sitting on the back of the horse and tried hitting the wooden plates which were placed at three places along a long road. Sometimes they missed, but when they hit confetting came out of the plates and everyone (onlookers) were going ''Woo!'' ''Yeey!'' or just clapped.

For the rest ...

I am fine ^^ and adjusted bit to life here. I get less tired from my surroundings. Still i have only 2 months left... if i want to stay longer it has to be 3 months, because of my student Visa. And maybe as you would haved guessed. I dont want to go home. Still.... i wonder how summer here is. To hot probably. Yesterday it was already 25 degrees and standing in the sun to wait on something was a bit to warm. Also, the sun was a little bit stinging my skin. Thus... i really have to think about what i want and what's best. Also have to take in concideration few other things. I wont tire you with that ;-) and just let you now later what i have decided.

Oh before i forget. I am going from 5 May to 10 May to South Korea, Seaul. In Japan is golden week, thus i have 1 week of from school ;-)
